Company Description:

Mixed Company Theatre began as an artist-run collective in the early 1980s, producing important contemporary plays that featured social commentary in an engaging and entertaining way.
In 1991 Mixed Company’s mandate focused on integrating arts into the community through the use of Forum Theatre or Theatre of the Oppressed.
Since 1993, Mixed Company has been recognized as a North American Centre for Forum Theatre. Among the company’s citations for artistic excellence include the Mayor’s Award for the Arts, the Pauline Julienne Award, Dora Mavor Moore Award nominations and the Montreal Gazette’s Best New Play Award. Mixed Company has also received a Safe City Award and a Mayor’s Commendation for Dedication to Social Justice.
