Amie grew up in a world of sports so naturally, she became very competitive at a young age. Surrounded by boys, she knew she had to work extra hard to keep up and prove that she shouldn't be last pick when it came to making teams. Throughout school, she picked up many skills and observations that she knew would help get results and work her way to the top. Being completely immersed in athletics taught her some of the most valuable lessons: how to be fair, how to strategize, ability to have foresight, team work, progress, patience and practice. She enjoys pushing her creative boundaries, exercising her social media insight and exploring her passion for sports and entertainment. She aims to utilize her event planning training and practice her marketing education all the while trying to make an impact -- whether that be in someone's life or in the world. She believes that all the experience and skills she's picked up and practiced along the way has given her the ability to be thrown into almost any situation and be able to work her way through it. From creating charity campaigns that empower women to raise thousands of dollars for prostate cancer, to performing in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Closing Ceremony, to appearing on billboards and bus stops for the Vancouver Canucks and Pepsi Co., to having her own column in a local newspaper, Amie hasn't stopped exploring different corners until now. Now Amie's mission in life is to significantly decrease(or eliminate) the number of drowning-related tragedies all over the world. Having the privilege to teach hundreds of kids how to swim while working for the city of Vancouver and Burnaby for over a decade, she now wants to share that privilege across the globe. She is working on raising awareness for swimming education and drowning prevention and wants to save the world from drowning by teaching everyone how to swim, one person at a time.
