Company Description:

Job Title: Consultant Winemaker
Macedo Winery is currently seeking a Winemaker to assist in the development and preservation of wines of the highest quality to support the business objectives.
Macedo Winery Winemaker will be responsible for:
·         Wine Fermentation, ageing and blending
·         Cellar operation and coordination
·         Oenology performance monitoring and reporting
·         Perform analysis of juice, must and wine while adhering to accuracy and reliability standards
·         Understand wine lab methodologies and chemistry
·         Ensure cellar sanitation is in keeping with current industry standards and that cellar staff operates in accordance with all mandated safety procedures
·         Coordinate daily bottling operations including filtration, sterilization and tank approval
·         Participate in routine inventory tasting and blending sessions recommending appropriate action in consultation with the owner David Macedo
·         Write cellar work orders coordinating cellar activities as needed
·         Support facility maintenance staff
·         Act as backup when necessary to all members of the winemaking team, having a working knowledge of programs and activities that are current in other departments
·         Act as winery spokesperson with public and trade as needed for future events
 
Requirements: Experience in the industry of 3 year+ Must speak English and Portuguese
Professional experience & know how:
·         Minimum 3 years’ experience in winemaking industry
·         Knowledge of white, red and carbonated  winemaking methods
·         Demonstrates sensory skills for wine tasting
·         Strong communication skills and abilities as spokesperson for public relations and marketing
Technical & management skills:
·         Intermediate computer skills in word processing, data base and spread sheet
·         Proficiency in winery bulk wine tracking systems

• Must have knowledge on Alcohol Government Regulations through  AGCO and LCBO, filing paperwork and reports.

·         Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company’s values
·         Ability to adapt to changing work environment
·         Willing to work flexible and extended hours when necessary
