Company Description:
Now in our 20th year, Reelworld continues to champion BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People-of-Colour) artists and filmmakers. Reelworld is proud to be the first Toronto film festival to recognize the importance of encouraging racially diverse artists to gain strength through collaboration and alliance with other diverse communities.
We embrace a variety of media arts and showcase narrative film, music-videos, episodic content, gaming and VR/360 films. We have launched the careers of hundreds of Indigenous and racialized artists, created mentorship opportunities, forged meaningful partnerships with industry organizations such as Telefilm, CTV, and CBC, and facilitated valuable learning opportunities.
In addition to the annual festival, Reelworld’s year-round outreach initiatives support emerging filmmakers with training and funding; empower youth and students through hands-on workshops and exposure to socially relevant films; and facilitate screenings, discussion, and learning opportunities within under-served communities across Canada.
