It’s official. September has arrived, kids are going back to school and the plans for summer vacations have passed. After summer holidays, it can be tough to adjust back into "work mode". You should feel well rested and ready to conquer your tasks… but the truth is, it might take a bit of work to get back into the grind.

Most people are conducting their job search day in and day out with no goals… no end in sight and most of the candidates we speak with are sending their applications online and wondering why there are no results.

 

So you have been asked by a Hiring Manager to conduct a Skype Interview for your first meeting. 

Some of you might be asking what is this thing she called “Skype”; some of you might be worried that your “not-so technical skills” you noted you were an expert in on your resume might shine through and some of you may believe you are tech-savvy and you got this in the bag.

At TorontoJobs.ca, we have conducted 100’s of Skype interviews and are surprised at the amount of people that don’t cover the obvious things that should be considered before they sit in front of their computer screens to impress a potential employer. 

This video shares some tips on how to select a Recruiting firm, such as their reputation, referrals, their specialization (such as geographical, position, industry, etc.) as well as meeting them.

In this video, you will get some tips on how to prepare for an interview, such as researching the company, knowing what’s happening in the company’s industry, know where you’re going/plan the route to get there, have questions and references ready to give to the interviewer and sending a thank you letter to the interviewer after the interview.
